Membership & Benefits

Home  /  Membership  /  Membership & Benefits

1. Do I have to be a member to compete at the Welsh championship Show?
Yes, Ring one is exclusive to members of the WPCS of Ireland. There are Silver WPCS medals on offer and also WPCS of Ireland Gold and Silver medals for each Championship in the ridden classes which are exclusive to this show. There are exclusive enhanced rosettes in this ring also. All the in hand (WPCS Silver Medal) classes results will be uploaded to your pony’s profile on the WPCS grassroots system giving worldwide referral to your pony’s record.

2. What does my membership entitle me to?
The membership is currently €55 and includes one Performance record.  This entitles the pony to;

  • Enter for medals in ring 1 at the Annual Show.
  • Qualify for Annual Championships.
  • This will entitle your included pony to be counted for the Annual Performance Awards. There are many categories and disciplines, points are given for Showing, Working Hunter, Show Jumping, Dressage, Mounted Games, Driving and Eventing.
  • Additional Performance records can be purchased for five euro.

3. How do I become a member?

4. How are my points collected by WPCS of Ireland?
When your membership is received you will be sent an email with an excel document attached with your pony's details on. Simply fill in the columns under the headings, being careful to fill in the name of the rider/handler and what the pony was doing on what date. You will need to send this in at the end of each month and we will upload those results onto our Masterfile. Points are accrued for all placings 1-4th place. Equitation and Young handlers are separate from the pony’s performance as this is not judged on the pony so do include them. Fancy dress does not count.

The performance year starts on the 1st of October and finishes on the 30th of September the following year. This includes all the winter leagues. You will be reminded each month to send in your points by email to; pointswpcs@gmail.com
